Body
WHEREAS, Jeff Gilmore has served the County for thirty years, first as a valuable member of the Corrections Department staff and, later, as Chief of Park Safety for the Parks and Recreation Department; and,
WHEREAS, under Jeff's vision and leadership, the department's Outdoor Interpretation Division was transformed into a unit that fully focuses on public relations, park safety, customer service, and enforcement of park rules and regulation; and,
WHEREAS, rangers are Class A certified peace officers and, as Chief of Park Safety, Jeff worked diligently with County officials and the Director of Parks and Recreation to both arm the park ranges and educate the public; and,
WHEREAS, as Chief, Jeff developed standard operating procedures for the rangers to follow during the performance of their duties and ensured that rangers meet the state-mandated continuing education hours; and,
WHEREAS, Jeff has worked to ensure the safety of the public and employees at all park locations, serving as the liaison with local law enforcement agencies, and is universally respected for his knowledge and willingness to work cooperatively; and,
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department recognizes Chief Gilmore for his professionalism and honesty in taking care of all park patrons while providing them the best possible recreational experience; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Jeffrey Gilmore on his retirement and extends best wishes to him for thirty years of dedicated and loyal service to the citizens of Jackson County.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
