Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Family Court Support Services possesses vehicles that are no longer in use, inoperable, or unable to be repaired and therefore need to be declared surplus in order to be sold or disposed of pursuant to Chapter 11, Jackson County Code, 1984; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 21597, dated April 15, 2024, the Legislature did authorize auction services for the sale of County owned property and equipment by Purple Wave of Manhattan, KS; and,
WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that the County-owned vehicles listed on the attached declaration and transfer form be declared surplus and unusable and disposed of via auction by Purple Wave pursuant to section 1131.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984; and,
WHEREAS, Family Court has requested, and the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that any unusable vehicles listed on the attached form be declared surplus and disposed of pursuant to section 1141. of the Jackson County Code, 1984; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County property further described and itemized in the attached declaration form be and hereby is declared surplus, and that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to turn over said property to Purple Wave for auction, as provided in section 1131.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, or disposed of by the Interim Director via recycling, salvaging, or other means authorized by section 1141. of the Jackson County Code, 1984.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
