Body
WHEREAS, Kyle Andrew Watkins Davis of Independence, Missouri, has successfully completed all requirements to attain Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout, and will be recognized at the Eagle Court of Honor on May 6, 2012; and,
WHEREAS, Kyle began scouting in 2008 with Scout Troop 221 and is currently a member of Boy Scout Troop 228 where he is a Foxman in the Tribe of the Mic-O-Say; and,
WHEREAS, Kyle has served in the leadership positions of Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Historian, has earned twenty-seven merit badges, received the Conservation Award as a cub scout with Pack 221, and he attended a High Adventure camp at Pike's Peak, Colorado in August 2010; and,
WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout project, Kyle planned, organized, and supervised volunteers in pouring concrete to border existing flower beds and in planting rose bushes and other flowers in the memorial garden at Summit Grove Community of Christ Church in Independence, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, as an eighth-grade student at Osage Trail Middle School in the Fort Osage School District, Kyle is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, the Osage Destination Imagination Improvisation Team, plays on the football, basketball, and track teams, and is a volunteer attorney for the Independence and Eastern Jackson County Youth Courts; and,
WHEREAS, Kyle also mentors youths who attend the Summit Grove Community of Christ youth camp each summer; and,
WHEREAS, Kyle's proud parents, Susan Watkins and Rick Davis, join in his celebration of this honor; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Kyle Andrew Watkins Davis upon successfully completing all requirements to attain Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout, and extends well-deserved recognition for his contributions to the Jackson County community.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
