Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 21092, dated November 14, 2022, the Legislature did authorize an agreement with Swope Health Services for construction of an 18-room behavioral health services building; and,
WHEREAS, Swope Health Services desires to amend the agreement with Jackson County because construction of the 18-room building will not be completed by December 31, 2026 and is no longer feasible; and,
WHEREAS, under the amended agreement, which will be drafted upon approval by the Legislature, the funding will be used to purchase a 24-unit apartment building in order to provide continued care to the community; and,
WHEREAS, the amended agreement sets out the rights and obligations of each party participating in the program; and,
WHEREAS, execution of the amended agreement with Swope Health Services is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the amendment to the Contract with Swope Health Services.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
