IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI
Title
AN ORDINANCE appropriating $167,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2006 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute a cooperative agreement with Swope Health Services in the amount of $392,000.00 to provide substance abuse treatment and mental health services to clients of the Jackson County Mental Health Court.

Body
WHEREAS, Swope Health Services has submitted a proposal for funding for 2005-2006 from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund to provide comprehensive substance abuse treatment and mental health services to clients of the Jackson County Mental Health Court, in the amount of $407,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, funding of this proposal is in the best interests of the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to fund a portion of the cost of these services; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2006 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute a cooperative agreement with Swope Health Services, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
