AN ORDINANCE appropriating $366,332.00 from the fund balance of and transferring $92,854.00 within the 2010 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and transferring $12,000.00 within the 2010 General Fund in acceptance of a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Body
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has awarded the Recovery Act Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) to the Jackson County Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force in the amount of $261,473.68, which the Task Force will use to fully fund four employees and partially fund one employee, with fringe benefits and overtime expenses, to assist in the investigation of federal and/or state criminal charges related to drug-related crimes, for the period of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011; and,
WHEREAS, this grant is subject to a local match in the amount of $104,858.78; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary to place the matching and grant funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and hereby are made:
