WHEREAS, the County’s 2023 budget contains a line item in the amount of $1,000,000.00 to fund an opioid treatment center at University Health; and,
WHEREAS, with the County’s recent receipt of legal settlement funds to be used for opioid-related purposes, the Administration now recommends that the currently budgeted funds be transferred so as to be available to further support outside agency public health programs, with the settlement funds to be used to fund the opioid treatment center via a subsequent ordinance; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2023 Health Fund:
