Body
WHEREAS, Ernest H. and Nonda Z. Wassmann are the record owners of certain property located in the vicinity of 9200 Noland Rd. in Kansas City, adjacent to the County's Little Blue Trace park; and,
WHEREAS, the Wassmanns have created a company known as Silvertooth Properties, LLC, to subdivide and develop this property; and,
WHEREAS, in connection with this development, the Wassmanns have requested an easement across the park for the installation of a pipe to drain stormwater from the development into the Little Blue River; and,
WHEREAS, in exchange for this easement, the Wassmanns have proposed to convey to the County a .83-acre parcel of land along the river; and,
WHEREAS, under this proposal, the County would convey back to the Wassmanns and their company an easement across this parcel, so that the Wassmanns can install pedestrian and/or equestrian trails; and,
WHEREAS, the three attached agreements provide a suitable mechanism by which to accomplish this arrangement; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends the execution of these Agreements as they will allow the County to acquire a previously unavailable section of the riverfront property, to fill out the park, with little or no burden to existing park property; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the three attached Agreements with the City of Kansas City, MO Silvertooth Properties, LLC, and Ernest H. and Nonda Z. Wassmann.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
