Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16466, dated December 3, 2007, the City of Independence and Jackson County entered into a Cooperative Agreement to provide for the construction of an additional 3.5 miles of trail along the Little Blue Trace; and,
WHEREAS, the parties now desire to modify the agreement to include language addressing cost overruns to the project should the situation occur; and,
WHEREAS, the attached First Amendment to the Cooperative Agreement sets forth the mutual understanding of the parties regarding these modifications; and,
WHEREAS, this First Amendment is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached First Amendment to the Cooperative Agreement with the City of Independence, Missouri.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
