Body
WHEREAS, Father Paul Turner has been the pastor at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, located in Kansas City, MO for several years; and,
WHEREAS, Father Turner is a director of the Office of Divine Worship for the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph; and,
WHEREAS, Father Turner holds a doctorate in sacred theology from Sant’Anselmo, located in Rome, Italy; and,
WHEREAS, on Friday, June 27th Father Turner won Author of the Year at the 2025 Catholic Media Association Awards for his book, Sacred Times; and,
WHEREAS, Sacred Times offers a practical guide on the General Roman Calendar and Table of Liturgical Days; explaining how it came to be and why these celebrations matter; and,
WHEREAS, Father Turner is an established author, with dozens of other titles to his name; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Jackson County would like to celebrate the achievements of Father Turner and his authorship; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and celebrates Father Paul Turner and his accomplishments.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
