WHEREAS, by Resolution 15797, dated February 21, 2006, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to approve, on behalf of the County, a new 25-year sublease for Arrowhead Stadium at the County's Harry S. Truman Sports Complex between the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority and the Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc; and,
WHEREAS, one of the features of the sublease was a $1.00 user fee on tickets to be paid by all event patrons at the stadium; and,
WHEREAS, provisions of the sublease authorized by Resolution 15797 are expressly subject to the approval of the National Football League (NFL); and,
WHEREAS, the NFL disapproved the $1.00 ticket user fee and the parties have agreed to substitute a season ticket license fee of $131.00 on all Chiefs' season ticket holders to be paid over the 2007, 2008, and 2009 seasons; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the proposed First Amendment to the 2006 Sublease Amendment is attached; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, a consent to the First Amendment to the 2006 Sublease Amendment with the Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc., in a final form to be approved by the County Counselor, substantially similar to that attached.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
