Title
A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a Fourth Addendum to the Agreement with the Salvation Army, to provide housing for homeless Drug Court referrals, for the Prosecuting Attorney's Deferred Prosecution and Drug Court Programs, at an increased cost to the County not to exceed $25,000.00 and extending the Agreement for a period of twelve months.

Body
WHEREAS, the voters of the County approved imposition of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,
WHEREAS, the County did, by Resolution 13226, dated July 24, 2000, enter into an Agreement with the Salvation Army, to provide housing for Drug Court referrals who are homeless, for the Prosecuting Attorney's Deferred Prosecution and Drug Court Programs; and,
WHEREAS, subsequent Resolutions have extended this Agreement through March 31, 2004, at a total cost to the County not to exceed $101,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney now recommends an additional extension to the Agreement with the Salvation Army, through and including March 31, 2005, at an increased cost to the County not to exceed $25,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed increase and extension to this Agreement are necessary to provide housing for eight individual Drug Court referrals per month, at a cost of $15.00 per day/$20.00 per day for holidays, and this increase will not exceed $25,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached Fourth Addendum to the Agreement with the Salvation Army; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be, and hereby is, authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the Agreement and the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Addenda thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
