Body
WHEREAS, the FIRST Robotics Competition Championship is a celebration of science and technology for high school students worldwide; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit North High School Broncobots qualified for the third consecutive year for the FIRST Robotic Competition; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit North Broncobots qualified for the championship by winning the Oklahoma Regional competition and also winning the Regional Chairman's Award, the highest regional award; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit North Broncobots were represented by members Becky Hand, Logan Smith and Jacob Dobyns in the robot parade honoring teams from each regional that won the Chairman's Award; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit North Broncobots were led by their coach Tom Reynolds and represented by 20 students and a contingent of sponsors, mentors and parents during their appearance at the World Championship in Atlanta, Georgia; and,
WHEREAS, involvement in the Robotics Team has inspired many students to pursue science and technology related careers and helped them to develop relationships with business leaders; and,
WHEREAS, students' participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition has highlighted the rich technical and industrial resources we have in our community; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Lee's Summit North Broncobots on their prestigious showing at the FIRST Robotics Competition and extends sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
