Body
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, will conduct a Household Hazardous Waste Clean Up Day event on June 24-25, 1995; and,
WHEREAS, Household Hazardous Waste Clean Up Days provides residents with a place to take their haz rdous waste and provides education on proper purchasing, use, storage, and disposal of household hemicals; and,
WHEREAS, it is recognized that it is beneficial for local governments and the Mid America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District (MARC District) to work cooperatively on the Household Haz rdous Waste Clean Up Days event; and,
WHEREAS, Household Hazardous Waste Clean Up Days event will serve as a springboard for the permane t HHW facility which is a part of the MARC District Solid Waste Management Plan, which will be ava lable, at a cost, to communities in the MARC District; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City has agreed to allow Jackson County to participate in this event, hereby making the services available to all citizens of the unincorporated areas of Jackson County in accordance the Memorandum of Understanding which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by r ference; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Jackson County, Missouri to participate in this event; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to enter into the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the City of K nsas City, Missouri, to participate in its Household Hazardous Waste Clean Up Days; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payme ts, including final payment on the contract.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of he Legislature.
