Body
WHEREAS, there are areas located within Fleming Park and Blue Springs Lake Park that have gaps in the coverage for storm warning sirens; and,
WHEREAS, the County, the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District, and the City of Lee's Summit have proposed to cooperate in the relocation and maintenance of storm warning sirens located in these areas; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Cooperative Agreements set forth the mutual understanding and obligations of each entity with regards to the maintenance, insurance, and operation of the storm warning sirens; and,
WHEREAS, these Cooperative Agreements are in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
