A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Levasy for the funding of stormwater projects around the County, at no cost to the County.

Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Stormwater Commission proposed to each of the municipalities in Jackson County that they donate $1,000.00 per square mile to establish a project funding mechanism for the commission to internally fund stormwater projects; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Levasy has agreed to donate $620.00 towards the betterment of the water quality projects; and,
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the appropriate vehicle to allow the County to receive the donation from the municipality; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed MOU creates restrictions on the use of the donation, and provides for the sum to be paid within a certain time frame; and,
WHEREAS, the attached MOU with the City of Levasy adequately sets out the rights and obligations of the parties with regard to this arrangement, at no cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Execute be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Levasy.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
