Body
WHEREAS, the Judge Mason Center Drug Court Programs and employees provide needed and valuable services to the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that the Sprint Arena project initiated by the City of Kansas City Missouri will necessitate the relocation of the Judge Mason Center Drug Court Programs and employees to make room for the arena; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Prosecutor has recommended relocation on a temporary basis to either property commonly known as 3217 Broadway Kansas City Missouri or property commonly known as 3600 Broadway Kansas City Missouri for the programs and employees of the Judge Mason Center, until a new permanent location is identified; and,
WHEREAS, the relocation fo the employees and programs of the Judge Mason Center Drug Court Programs is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute a lease agreement for the property commonly known as 3600 Broadway Kansas City Missouri for the purpose of the temporary relocation of the programs and employees of the Judge Mason Center pending the decision on a final location, at a cost to the county not to exceed $2,900.00 a month, as a month to month lease in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, pursuant to the terms contained in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
