Body
WHEREAS, the term of Jerry Mackey, a member of the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority, expired on July 15, 1996; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §64.930, RSMo, 1994, and case law construing that section, the Legislature did, by Resolution 11335, dated June 17, 1996, nominate Mr. Mackey, Randall Cain, and Francis Quinn, for appointment to the Authority; and,
WHEREAS, as required by §64.930, the nominating panel appointed by Resolution 11335 was thereafter transmitted to the Governor of Missouri for his consideration; and,
WHEREAS, on March 25, 1997, Mr. Mackey, who had continued to hold over as a member of the Authority pending the appointment of his successor, tendered his resignation from the Authority, and withdrew his name from consideration for reappointment; and,
WHEREAS, the Governor has now requested that the Legislature submit a new nominee for his consideration, to replace Mr. Mackey, so that he might have a full panel of three names from which to make his final appointment; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following name shall be submitted to the Governor for his consideration for final appointment to fill the vacancy on the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority occasioned by the expiration of the term of Jerry Mackey, for a new term to expire July 15, 2001:
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Legislature be and hereby is directed to submit this name to the Governor by providing him a true and correct copy hereof.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
