Body

WHEREAS, Section 1040.4 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained through an existing fixed price contract and agreement of a federal, state or local government where it is to the County's advantage to buy under that agreement; and,

 

WHEREAS, Section 1064.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on purchases exceeding $5,000.00 under an existing government contract; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends that the County use an existing U.S. Communities Master Agreement with Sportime International of Atlanta, GA, for the purchase of miscellaneous physical education supplies and equipment for use by  the Department of Corrections and Parks and Recreation Department; therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the purchase of miscellaneous physical education supplies and equipment from Sportime International of Atlanta, GA, be  made as recommended by the Purchasing Director in the total amount not to exceed $16,875.00, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute any documents required to enable the purchase as recommended by the Purchasing Director; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
