Body
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City desires to provide through its Animal Control Division certain animal control services to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City has been providing animal control services for unincorporated Jackson County under a cooperative agreement with the County since July 2003; and,
WHEREAS, this Agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Cooperative Agreement provides a satisfactory mechanism by which to accomplish this purpose; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement for Animal Control Services with the City of Kansas City; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
