RESOLUTION NO. 19024, December 7, 2015

 

INTRODUCED BY Tony Miller, Dan Tarwater III, Crystal Williams, Frank White, Jr., Scott Burnett, Alfred Jordan, Dennis Waits, Greg Grounds, and Theresa Galvin, County Legislators

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, the Fort Osage High School football team won the Class 5 Missouri State Championship, defeating Chaminade 63-28 in the State Championship Final held November 28, 2015, at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Indians were led in victory during its 14 - 1 season by Head Coach Ryan Schartz; and,

 

WHEREAS, this is the first state title in three attempts for the number-three-ranked Indians; and,

 

WHEREAS, the matchup featured a state championship-game record 455 combined passing and rushing yards for seven touchdowns by Fort Osage senior quarterback Skylar Thompson; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Fort Osage High School football team on its outstanding showing and extends sincere best wishes for continued success of the team and its members and coaches in all future endeavors.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
