A RESOLUTION authorizing the execution of a second addendum to the contract with The Bratton Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, for the Corrections Department's Sliding Door Retrofit Project, providing for hinged access hatches to two modules with eighteen doors per module, at an additional cost to the County not to exceed $18,270.00, for a total cost not to exceed $198,547.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature did, by Resolution No. 16401, dated September 17, 2007, awarded a contract under the terms and conditions of Request for Proposal No. PP20071 for the Sliding Device Retrofit Project for use by the Department of Corrections at the Jackson County Detention Center at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $91,300.00; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 16559, dated November 14, 2007, the Legislature did approve Change Order No. 1, which expanded the project to include the retrofit of an additional jail module at an additional cost of $88,977.00, and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Corrections has now recommended that the County execute a second addendum to that contract; and,
WHEREAS, this second addendum will expand the approved project to include hinged access hatches to two modules with eighteen doors per module, at an additional cost of $18,270.00; and,
WHEREAS, all terms and conditions of proposal number PP20071 remain in full force and effect for this requested second addendum; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the addendum be awarded as recommended by the Director of Corrections, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract and all addenda thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
