A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for the Off-System Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program which will enable the County to accept a Federal Highway Administration grant through the Missouri Department of Transportation for the replacement of the Courtney-Atherton Road Bridge.

RESOLUTION # 15132,    November 15, 2004

 

INTRODUCED BY Bob Spence,  County Legislator

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the County is in need of a bridge replacement of the Courtney-Atherton Road Bridge; and,

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission propose to enter into an Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, whereby the Missouri Department of Transportation will facilitate a grant from the Federal Highway Administration which will reimburse the County up to 80% of the cost of the bridge replacement; therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission is hereby approved and that the County Executive is authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the County; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
