Body
WHEREAS, on January 25, 1947, Tad and Gennie Dec were married in a ceremony in Augsburg, Germany; and,
WHEREAS, Tad and Gennie eventually established their home in Kansas City, MO, where they raised eight children, Ella Dec- Smith, Richard J. Dec, John Dec, Edward Dec, Mark Dec, Donald Dec, Christopher Dec, and Amy Ann Dec-Kilgore; and,
WHEREAS, Tad and Gennie have been additionally blessed by 14 wonderful grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, Tad spent 35 years working for Armco Steel, retiring in 1986, while Gennie worked as a homemaker, raising their eight children; and,
WHEREAS, Tad and Gennie are active members of Our Lady of Peace Church where Tad has been a eucharistic minister; and,
WHEREAS, Tad has spent countless hours serving as treasurer for the St. Stephen School Board and St. Vincent DePaul Society, financial secretary for the Polish National Alliance Lodge 1817, Jackson County Committeeman for the 13th Ward, and Election Judge for the City of Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, Gennie has given of her time to the Altar Society of Our Lady of Peace Church and has served as a member of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women; and,
WHEREAS, Tad and Gennie celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their family at Our Lady of Peace Church on January 25, 1997; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Tad and Gennie Dec on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary, and wishes them many more happy years together.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
