Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to purchase property located at 301 and 305 South Liberty Street in Independence, MO, adjacent to the Jackson County Health Department, for potential future use by the department; and,
WHEREAS, the County has negotiated a purchase price of $45,806.00 for this property based upon the County's assessed market value of these unimproved parcels; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of this property is the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County, and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the funds needed for this purchase in the appropriate spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2014 Health Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is authorized to execute a commercial real estate contract and any other necessary documents, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, for the purchase of property located at 301 and 305 South Liberty Street, Independence, MO.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
