Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to assist in recognizing the 25th anniversary of Earth Day at the Kansas City Museum's special event, Super Science Earthday, and the Museum's new exhibit, Protect Our Planet, the focus of which is recycling; and,
WHEREAS, the Kansas City Museum has requested funding to publicize the Earth Day event, as well as to develop support projects and activities for the exhibit; and,
WHEREAS, the County deems it to be in the best interest of the citizenry to support such events and activities; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer within the 1995 Park Fund is necessary to cover the costs of the Earth Day activities and current exhibit, Protect Our Planet, sponsored by the Kansas City Museum; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said transfer; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 1995 Park Fund:

and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive is authorized to execute the attached Agreement with the Kansas City Museum for funding of events in recognition of Earth Day, and for the new Exhibit, Protect Our Planet, at a cost not to exceed $10,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to issue a check in the amount of $10,000.00 to the Kansas City Museum.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
