Body

WHEREAS, Truman Medical Center, Inc. (TMC) leases and operates the healthcare facility owned by Jackson County, Missouri, located at 2301 Holmes, Kansas City, Missouri (Hospital Hill facility); and,

WHEREAS, TMC management has identified an opportunity to increase the quality of patient care through the outsourcing of a large part of its outpatient pharmacy services to Walgreens Pharmacy; and,

WHEREAS, a part of the transaction with Walgreens Pharmacy will include subleasing approximately 1,200 square feet of the Hospital Hill facility to Walgreens Pharmacy to perform its outpatient pharmacy services; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 7.1 of the lease between TMC and Jackson County for the Hospital Hill facility, the County retains the right to consent to any subleasing of the Hospital Hill facility; and,

WHEREAS, TMC has requested the County's approval to enter into a sublease arrangement with Walgreens Pharmacy for the outpatient pharmacy services contemplated in their transaction; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature, on behalf of the County, does hereby consent to the sublease arrangement between Truman Medical Center, Inc., and Walgreens Pharmacy, at no cost to the County.

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
