IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title AN ORDINANCE appropriating $125,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1998 Anti Drug Sales Tax Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City, for its Delinquency and Youth Violence Prevention Program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $125,000.00. Intro ORDINANCE #2807, June 1, 1998 INTRODUCED BY Dennis Waits, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the County has received a grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety in the amount of $100,000.00, for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City's Delinquency and Youth Violence Prevention Program, the goal of which is to provide early intervention activities among fifth grade students in four area elementary schools; and, WHEREAS, the Club has pledged an in-kind contribution in the amount of $38,680.00 for this program; and, WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City has requested County Anti-Drug Sales Tax matching funds in the amount of $25,000.00 to continue this program; and, WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1998 Anti Drug Sales Tax Fund: DEPARTMENT/DIVISION CHARACTER/DESCRIPTION FROM TO Prosecuting Attorney Grant Match Grant Match $25,000 Increase Revenue 100,000 Unappropriated Surplus $100,000 Unappropriated Surplus 100,000 Juvenile Justice Delinquency & Youth Prevention Program Other Professional Services 125,000 and, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City; and, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement. Attorney Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
