Body
WHEREAS, by 17506, dated February 14, 2011, the Legislature did authorized the execution of Cooperative Agreements with certain municipalities within Jackson County for 2011 DARE program funding; and,
 
WHEREAS, in 2010 the COMBAT Administration standardized the DARE funding on an annual per student basis and all municipalities were placed on a calendar year funding format; and,
 
WHEREAS, because the Board of Police Commissioners for the City of Kansas City operates under a different fiscal year, it was unable to spend all of its allocation during this transition, and $16,638.00 of its 2010 DARE funds have been returned to the County; and,
 
WHEREAS, the six remaining DARE agencies have requested to use the available funds for their DARE programs for the remainder of 2011; and,
 
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
 
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated fund balance of the 2011 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute Addenda to the  Cooperative Agreements with the Cities of Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Grandview, Independence, Lee's Summit, and Oak Grove, in the amount of $2,773.00 each, for a total aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $16,638.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreements and Addenda thereto.
 
 
 
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
