AN ORDINANCE transferring $10,000.00 within the 2004 Park Fund, appropriating $20,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 Grant Fund, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Addendum to the Fish and Wildlife Habitat Development Agreement with the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in the amount of $10,000.00, as a local match to a federal grant received for the prairie grass restoration project at Fort Osage.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3412, dated September 15, 2003, the County and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service did enter into a Fish and Wildlife Habitat Development Agreement, whereunder the Service agreed to provide to the County $6,000.00 in grant funds to be used to restore prairie grass at Fort Osage National Historic Landmark; and,
WHEREAS, the County and the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service desire to enter into an Amendment to the Fish and Wildlife Habitat Development Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, whereunder the Service will provide to the County an additional $10,000.00 in grant funds to be used for the same purpose; and,
WHEREAS, the grant is subject to a $10,000.00 local match; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary in order to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2004 Park Fund and appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 Grant Fund be and hereby are made:

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
