RE: EXECUTIVE ORDER APPOINTING MR. CHRIS CRAWFORD AS DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Title
WHEREAS, the position of Director of Human Resources has become vacant due to the retirement of Mrs. Michelle Chrisman; and
WHEREAS, Article III, Section 6 of the Constitutional Home Rule Charter of Jackson County, Missouri, grants the County Executive the authority to appoint department directors and to fill vacancies as they occur within the departments of county government; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Jackson County to ensure continued leadership and administrative continuity within the Department of Human Resources while maintaining the effective oversight of the Office of Ethics, Human Relations, and Citizen Complaints (OEHRCC); and
WHEREAS, Mr. Chris Crawford, who currently serves as Director of the Jackson County Office of Ethics, Human Relations, and Citizen Complaints, has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public service, and possesses the qualifications necessary to provide stable leadership to the Department of Human Resources during this period of transition.
NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as County Executive of Jackson County, Missouri, I, Frank White, Jr., do hereby order as follows:
1. Appointment. I hereby appoint Mr. Chris Crawford, Director of the Jackson County Office of Ethics, Human Relations, and Citizen Complaints (OEHRCC), to serve concurrently as Director of Human Resources, effective immediately.
2. Dual Service. Mr. Crawford shall continue to perform his duties as Director of the OEHRCC while serving as Director of Human Resources, and shall ensure the proper administration of both offices in coordination with their respective staff and commissions.
3. Interim Continuity. In the event this appointment is disapproved by the County Legislature, or until such time as a permanent Director of Human Resources is appointed and qualified, Mr. Crawford shall continue to serve as Interim Director of Human Resources to ensure uninterrupted departmental leadership.
4. Reversion of Duties. Should a successor be duly appointed and confirmed, Mr. Crawford shall continue thereafter in his regular capacity as Director of the Office of Ethics, Human Relations, and Citizen Complaints, unless otherwise lawfully relieved or reassigned.
