Body
WHEREAS, on February 11, 2006, the Rockhurst High School AquaHawks won their second consecutive Missouri High School State Swimming Championship, pulling away from the field and defeating their nearest competitor by a score of 304 (the second highest point total in meet history) to 243; and,
WHEREAS, the AquaHawks are coached by Paul Winkeler (Head Coach), Mick Swanson (Assistant Coach/Junior Varsity), Don Gansert (Assistant Coach), Margaret Winkeler (Assistant Coach/Diving), Mike Brockland (Assistant Coach), and Austin Molina (Student Coach); and,
WHEREAS, the young men of the Rockhurst High School AquaHawks are:

WHEREAS, during the 2005-2006 swim season, the AquaHawks accomplished many notable achievements, including becoming the first Missouri team to win two invitational meets on the same day and going undefeated in invitational meets; and,
WHEREAS, at the state championship, the AquaHawks scored points in every event, winning the medley relay for the third consecutive year and finishing second in four other events; and,
WHEREAS, the AquaHawks 2006 senior class has won 49 medals at the state championships over the last four years; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Rockhurst High School AquaHawks for their dedication and hard work throughout the season and for their magnificent triumph of winning their second consecutive Missouri High School State Swimming Championship.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
