BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri as follows:
 
Section 1.  The Zoning Order of Jackson County, Missouri, and the official maps which are a part thereof, are amended by changing the boundaries of the "A" (Agricultural) District and the "RE" (Residential Estates) District, so that there will be transferred from District A to District RE, a tract of land described as follows:
 
Description:  The 3 ± acres are generally a quarter of a mile east of Easley Road on the north side of U.S. Highway 50 westbound lanes and specifically described as a tract of land lying in the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 7 and the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 8, in Township 47, Range 30, Jackson County, Missouri, described as follows:  from the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of Section 17, aforesaid, run thence north 01̊56'37" east along the east line thereof, 1879.41 feet to a point on the northerly right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No. 50 as now located; thence north 67̊24'16" west along said right-of-way line, 32.90 feet; thence north 69̊41'42" west continuing along said right-of-way line, 200.16 feet; thence north 67̊24'16" west continuing along said right-of-way line, 809.53 feet to the true point of beginning of the tract to be described; thence continuing north 67̊24'16" west along said right-of-way line, 180.00 feet; thence departing from said right-of-way line on a bearing of north 36̊12'27" east, 30.33 feet; thence north 69̊01'46" east, 80.81 feet; thence north 63̊41'04" east, 155.32 feet; thence north 26̊55'14" east, 240.15 feet; thence north 52̊46'12" east, 181.84 feet; thence north 89̊29'53" east, 73.77 feet; thence south 02̊17'16" west, 318.51 feet; thence south 49̊53'01" west, 246.61 feet; thence south 78̊31'44" west, 196.31 feet to the true point of beginning.  Contains 3.04 acres, more or less, subject to any existing easements, aka 28910 E. U.S. 50 Highway.
 
      
 
Section 2.  The Legislature, pursuant to the application of Walnut Ridge Properties (Chris Thomas) (RZ-2008-456), requesting the amendment embodied in this Ordinance and with notice that the Jackson County Plan Commission unanimously recommended approval of this application in a public hearing on July 17, 2008, does adopt this Ordinance pursuant to the Jackson County Charter authorizing the Legislature to exercise legislative power pertaining to planning and zoning.
 
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
