WHEREAS, Charlene Davis is retiring after thirty-four years with the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners; and,
WHEREAS, Charlene began working as a statutory clerk, spending one year in that position; and,
WHEREAS, Charlene worked for one year as a redistricting coordinator, two years as supervisor of computer operations, and spent the past twenty-eight years as the Director of Elections; and,
WHEREAS, during her years working for the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners, Charlene has designed the program to implement punch card voting, designed, implemented and monitored the computerized database for voter registration, and implemented NVRA, making modifications to the computerized database; and,
WHEREAS, Charlene has been an active member of the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers (IACREOT) since 1981, and has served as the State Director from Missouri for ten years, Treasurer for seven years, and served as Special Assistant to the President of IACREOT in 2004; and,
WHEREAS, Charlene's husband, Wade, her three children, and eight grandchildren all share in celebrating her retirement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and congratulates Charlene Davis for her outstanding dedication and service to the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners throughout the years and extends best wishes for her future endeavors upon her retirement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
