Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works, at the request of the Parks and Recreation Department, has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW-08-00 for the Longview Lake - Fred Arbanas Golf Course Cartpath Replacement, Phase V, Project No. 2426; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon bids from the following:

American Marking and Paving $129,985.50
Claycomo, MO
Pyramid Excavation & Construction, Inc. $131,971.00
Shawnee, KS
and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Pyramid Excavation and Construction, Inc., of Shawnee, KS, for the reason that, while its bid is not the lowest, its bid is within 3.5% of the lowest and, because Pyramid has performed two of the prior phases of the work, the Director believes it can achieve efficiencies based on this familiarity, making its bid the lowest and best; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the contract be awarded as recommended by the Public Works Director; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to adjust the contract line item quantities provided that, in doing so, there is no additional financial obligation to the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
