AN ORDINANCE authorizing the County Executive to execute a petition for the voluntary annexation of a portion of Hillside Road and all of Cemetery Road by the City of Oak Grove.

Body
WHEREAS, the City of Oak Grove, MO, has agreed to annex approximately 0.5 miles of Hillside School Road from H Highway to Cemetery Road, and approximately 1.0 miles of Cemetery Road, from Hillside School Road north, upon completion of certain maintenance and reconstruction by the Jackson County Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has agreed to repair and rehabilitate 0.5 miles of Hillside School Road pavement and 1.0 miles of Cemetery Road, and has now completed its work; and,
WHEREAS, upon annexation, the City of Oak Grove will assume all maintenance upkeep on said roads; and,
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the annexation process, the City has requested the County to execute the attached Petition for Annexation, pursuant to 71.012, RSMo 1994; and,
WHEREAS, annexation of these portions of the roads by the City is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Petition for Annexation...Attorney
Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon signature by the County Executive.
