Body
WHEREAS, annually, the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce selects 30 applicants
who are interested in participating in the city’s leadership program known as Leadership Lee’s Summit; and,
WHEREAS, Leadership Lee’s Summit strives to empower individuals who are
personally motivated and have an interest in the community, who exhibit opportunities for leadership advancement and who are willing to commit their time and energy to complete the program; and,
WHEREAS, in October of 2025, Leadership Lee’s Summit utilized the October session to directly connect with over 20 non-profit organizations in the city including Answering The Call, Pro Deo Youth Center and Lee’s Summit Social Services; and,
WHEREAS, the October 2025 session further included a panel with key community leaders featuring the City of Lee’s Summit’s Assistant City Manager, Ryan Elam; the Lee’s Summit Chamber President, Matt Baird; LSR7 Superintendent, David Buck; Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street Executive Director, Donnie Rodgers, Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council President, Joe Perry; and Lee’s Summit Visitors Bureau Executive Director, Cori Day; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature formally recognizes the Leadership Lee’s Summit Class of 2026 and congratulates the October panel for outstanding leadership in the 6th district of Jackson County.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
