Body
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a grant in the amount of $55,051.00 by the Missouri Children's Division (formerly known as the Missouri Division of Family Services), for the Family Court Division's Family-Centered Out-of-Home Care program; and,
WHEREAS, this grant will provide funding for the immediate involvement of Juvenile Officers in all potential and real out-of-home placements to facilitate joint decision-making between the Juvenile Officer and the Missouri Children's Division at the earliest possible date to expedite permanency for children who are in need of child protection services; and,
WHEREAS, the original contract, Contract No. AOC 01380260, between the Family Court and the Missouri Children's Division for a term of July 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004, will be extended through June 30, 2005 by Contract Amendment No. 5, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation of $55,051.00 is necessary to allocate the awarded grant funds for funding of a full time legal assistant and attorney; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund:
