Body
WHEREAS, the County did, by Ordinance #3446, dated November 24, 2003, transfer and appropriate funds pursuant to the terms of a grant received from the Missouri Department of Public Safety for the Disproportionate Minority Confinement Project administered by the Jackson County Family Court Division; and,
WHEREAS, the Family Court Division and the Missouri Department of Public Safety desire to extend the ending date for the use of the grant funds to September 30, 2005 as outlined in the Contract Adjustment Notice attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and the extension will be at no additional cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive and the Family Court Division recommend this extension for the use of the grant funds as being in the best interests of the County and its residents; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the extension to September 30, 2005 for the Disproportionate Minority Confinement Project grant awarded by the Missouri Department of Public Safety is approved and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
