IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION expressing the sympathy of the Legislature to the family and friends of Elizabeth McCray, and her daughter, Keshawna Oliver, upon the occasion of their untimely and tragic deaths. Intro RESOLUTION #11544, December 16, 1996 INTRODUCED BY Carl W. Bussey, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, it was with great sorrow that family and friends learned of the tragic death of Elizabeth McCray and her daughter, 11-year- old Keshawna Oliver; and, WHEREAS, Mrs. McCray, Keshawna, and Mrs. McCray's four sons, ages 1, 4, 6, and 8, were travelling in southwest Missouri on Saturday, December 7, 1996, when their minivan was hit head-on by a pickup truck; and, WHEREAS, Mrs. McCray and Keshawna were fatally injured, while the four boys sustained injuries but remain in good condition; and, WHEREAS, since 1991, Mrs. McCray had worked for the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri, in the position of Court Clerk II in the Cost Accounting section of the Department of Civil Records; and, WHEREAS, Mrs. McCray attended the Sheffield Assembly Church in Kansas City; and, WHEREAS, Mrs. McCray is survived by her husband, Leodis McCray, daughter Alex, and sons Leodis III, Joshua, Lae Juan and Lae Roc; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby extends its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Elizabeth McCray and Keshawna Oliver, upon their untimely and tragic deaths. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
