A RESOLUTION awarding a nine-month term and supply contract for the furnishing of maintenance and repair for fire suppression systems for use by the Facilities Management Division of the Public Works Department, to Johnson Controls of Staples, MN, under the terms and conditions set forth in Sourcewell Contract No. 030421-JHN, an existing competitively bid contract.

RESOLUTION NO. 21991, August 18, 2025

 

INTRODUCED BY Charlie Franklin, County Legislator

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, the Facilities Management Division of the Public Works Department has a need for maintenance and repair for its fire suppression systems; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a nine-month term and supply contract for these services to Johnson Controls of Staples, MN, under the terms and conditions set forth in Sourcewell Contract No. 030421-JHN, an existing competitively bid government contract; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Director recommends award under section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, for the reason that this will allow the County to take advantage of discounts offered to large entities; and,

 

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation, with an estimated spending of $250,000.00; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made under the existing competitively bid contract as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are available in the then current Jackson County budget.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.

This award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases will, of necessity, be determined as each using agency places its order, with an estimated spending of $250,000.00.
