A RESOLUTION approving a Letter of Understanding with West Central Regional Lodge 50 of the Fraternal Order of Police regarding wage rates for members of the Sheriff's Department's bargaining Unit for calendar year 2002.

Body

WHEREAS, by Resolution 13491, dated January 8, 2001, the Legislature did authorize the execution of two-year Memorandum of Understanding with West Central Lodge 50 of the Fraternal Order of Police, to establish wage rates, hours of work, working conditions, and procedures for settlement of differences for certain employees within the Sheriff's Department; and,

 

WHEREAS, that Memorandum provided a mechanism by which calendar year 2002 wage rates for bargaining unit members would be subject to negotiation later in 2001; and,

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Lodge teams have concluded their negotiations and recommend approval of the Letter of Understanding, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Lodge's bargaining unit ratified this Letter at a meeting held December  15, 2001; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the attached Letter of Understanding with West Central Missouri Lodge 50 of the Fraternal Order of Police be and hereby is approved; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments required by the Letter of Understanding to the extent that sufficient appropriations are included in the 2002 annual County budget.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
