Body

WHEREAS, the Public Works Director recommends the County purchase Clearlane Treated Salt for highway, road, and other surface de-icing purposes; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends pursuant to Section 1040.4 Jackson County Code, 1984, that the purchase be made under an existing government contract with  Mid-America Regional Counsel/Kansas City Regional Purchasing Contract for the purchase of Clearlane Treated Salt for use by the Public Works Department to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period in an amount not to exceed $175,000.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, Section 1064.  Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that, for any such purchase in excess of $5,000.00, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; now therefore,

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the purchase  be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director from Cargill Incorporated - Deicing Technology of Olmsted, OH, in an amount not to exceed $175,000.00 and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to  execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the purchase; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the purchase, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
