Body
WHEREAS, UtiliCorp United, Inc., has requested the grant of a permanent 80-ft. easement across a portion of the Little Blue Trace for the installation, maintenance, and operation of electrical transmission and distribution lines to provide additional services to its customers in the County; and,
WHEREAS, the requested easement is 4,231 ft. in length and runs parallel and adjacent to the north right-of-way of I-470, near its interchange with View High Drive; and,
WHEREAS, for this easement UtiliCorp United, Inc., will pay the County compensation in the amount of $64,631.25, representing $.25 per square foot; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources has reviewed the request and has no objection to the grant of the easement; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation and his staff have reviewed the request and determined that the grant of the easement will not adversely affect the usability of the area of the park in question; and,
WHEREAS, the grant of the requested easement is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Agreement granting an easement, with UtiliCorp United, Inc.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
