Body
WHEREAS, the Family Support Division of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office is in need of legal process services to serve legal process in child support cases; and,
WHEREAS, while D & B Legal Services, Inc., of Overland Park, KS, has been satisfactorily providing these services for the Family Support Division for over twenty-five years, an increase in the volume of caseload within the division has created a need for a competitively bid term and supply contract; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends a ninety-day interim contract for the services, for the period of July 1, 2013, through October 1, 2013, to allow the County the necessary lead time to issue and award an Invitation to Bid for these services; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award of an interim contract be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
