Body
WHEREAS, the current Memoranda of Understanding with the International Association of Fire Fighters and the Carpenters District Council require call for salary increases to employees of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office in 2006; and,
WHEREAS, there are insufficient funds appropriated in the 2006 General Fund to provide these increases; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney and Legislature have been exploring various alternate mechanisms to fund these increases; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney and Legislature have determined to award the promised salary increases, in part, out of hard salary savings balances currently available in the Prosecuting Attorney's 2006 budgets to members of the professional and support staffs in the office of the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has determined to award the promised salary increases, in part, out of the Delinquent Tax Collection Fund to members of the professional and support staffs in the office of the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature fully supports the Prosecuting Attorney's decision to use the Delinquent Tax Collection Fund to fulfill the above referenced salary increases in this regard and commends him for this efforts in reaching a creative solution to a serious funding issue; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature fully supports the Prosecuting Attorney's decision to use as he may decide any hard salary savings balances currently available in the Prosecuting Attorney's 2006 budget for the salary obligations and commends him for this effort in reaching a creative solution to a serious funding issue.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
