AN ORDINANCE appropriating $16,500.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2022 Grant Fund and authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a Supplemental Agreement to the Engineering Services Contract with Anderson Engineering, Inc., of Kansas City, MO for the Federal Project BRO-B048(59), at an additional cost to the County not to exceed $16,500.00.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5553, dated October 4, 2021, the Legislature authorized the award of a contract for the design and construction of a new bridge in connection with Federal Project No. BRO-B048(59), Stoenner Road Bridge, County Project No. 3247, to Anderson Engineering, Inc., of Kansas City, MO, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $98,100.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works now recommends the execution of the attached Supplemental Agreement to the agreement with Anderson Engineering, Inc., to allow for the implementation of a new design plan for the Stoenner Road Bridge at an additional cost to the County not to exceed $16,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, this additional cost has been approved by MoDOT and will be fully paid with additional federal funds; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of this Supplemental Agreement is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Public Works be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County the attached Supplemental Agreement to the agreement with Anderson Engineering, Inc., for the Stoenner Road Bridge Replacement Project; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the original contract and the Supplemental Agreement.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
