IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION approving the renewal and extension of the existing group health insurance plans as a County-provided employee benefit, and the rates therefor. Intro RESOLUTION #12407, October 27, 1998 INTRODUCED BY John Patrick Burnett, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, by Resolution 11434, dated September 16, 1996, the County did award one-year contracts for group health insurance to Humana Health Care and Kaiser Permanente; and, WHEREAS, Kaiser Permanente provided for three one-year guaranteed renewal terms and Humana provided for two one-year guaranteed renewal terms, both with guaranteed maximum premium increases; and, WHEREAS, Humana has offered a third-year renewal at a 8% increase and Kaiser Permanente has offered a renewal term within its guaranteed cap; and, WHEREAS, the ad hoc Risk and Insurance Committee recommends renewal of the County's current contracts for group health insurance for County employees for 1999 upon terms and conditions set forth in the original agreements, including an increase in rates for all plans, as follows: INDIV FAMILY Humana Health Care HMO Plan L-300, (Staff/IPA) $151.14 $419.18 Kaiser Permanente HMO (Staff/IPA) $128.04 $352.10 PPO Plan (IPA, Network) $148.12 $407.34 therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the extension and renewal of the health insurance contract of Humana Health Care Plans, consisting of a Staff/IPA Model, and Kaiser Permanente, consisting of both a Staff/IPA PPO Model upon terms and conditions set out in the original agreements, be, and hereby are approved; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute and all documents necessary to effect these extensions and renewals. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
