INTRODUCED BY Bob Spence, County Legislator
 
 
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids on Invitation to Bid No. 21-09 for the furnishing of one backhoe for use by the Public Works Department; and,
 
WHEREAS, a total of twenty-four (24) notifications were distributed and three (3) responsive bids were received as follows:

Victor L. Phillips, Kansas City (Jackson), MO                        $114,335.35
Dean Machinery, Kansas City (Jackson), MO                        $196,536.00
Murphy Tractor, Kansas City (Jackson), MO                        $  82,970.00
and,
 
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends award to Murphy Tractor of Kansas City, MO, as the lowest and best bidder, and declares one (1) 1996 Ford 675D Backhoe obsolete and unusable personal property to be used as trade-in on this purchase; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1134., Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has requested that he be authorized to dispose of this equipment by way of trade-in; now therefore,
                                                      
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the specified existing equipment be and hereby is declared surplus personal property and the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it by way of trade-in.
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
