INTRODUCED BY Henry C. Rizzo and James D. Tindall, County Legislators
 
 
Title
WHEREAS, Section 1030.7 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items or services required are proposed to be obtained from a tax-exempt organization; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of contract for the furnishing of security assessment services for use by the Sheriff's Office to the National Sheriff's Association of Alexandria, VA, a tax-exempt organization; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Sheriff recommends the procurement of these services from the National Sheriff's Association based on the specialized knowledge possessed by the National Sheriff's Organization as described in the attached proposal; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of this award, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.
 
 
 
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
